Upper Loop and half of Hilda Loop groomed! Savor some of this sweetness. Fat grooming up there. Trickster has been made friendly for nordic.
On Friday the lower Peterson Lake trail has ok coverage for rock skis. The traverse through the woods is thin. The marked trail between John Muir and Peterson is excellent as is the ski to Spaulding from John Muir. Skiing down Saturday from John Muir is good in the meadows but thin in the forests.
Midday Monday it was snain with some sticky snow. Bring your glide wax. Coverage is good.
Diagonal reset, skating groomed wide. Temps around 30f. Keeping up with the new snow ain’t easy but we are efforting it. Groomer moved the diagonal over to make room for a ‘sidewalk’.
Lower loop groomed for skate and classic as of 9:30 a.m. Excellent conditions at the moment, but light snow and wind may fill in tracks in places as the day progresses.
Wahoooo!! Thank you everyone – today was such a success and it is truly because of all the wonderful humans who helped prepare and showed up today to make it happen! Thank you to the Juneau Ski Club volunteer groomers who groomed the extra loop on the lake in addition to the normal trails. Thank you to the many volunteers who manned brought snacks and hot drinks and kept the fire going. Thank you to the skiers and families and coaches!
