Problems with MC machine Transmission. Moving machine out on Tuesday. No more grooming for the season. Should be skiing for rest of week with out grooming. See you next year and have a great summer!
Awdigaan Yeèdat. That’s nice day to you in the local argot. If you know the secret to Roan Innish, you know you will have to find the empty skin of the selkie in the attic so it is no great leap from there to the bridge where the grooming starts. With Spring conditions timing is everything. Try to get there before the snow is too soft.
Ok – it is still very skiable on classic gear. The track is icy and glazed in spots, but still ok. Skating is probably the best
Must walk to last rise before the bridge where machine is parked but creepers not necessary. Track is fast early but should slow as temps rise. Track is level and hard in most places with spots of sugar snow.
Skate reset as well as possible on hard surface. At least removed most old skate tracks. Fast conditions with just one or two heavy spruce needle spots. Should last this week if groomed often.
Groomed up skate lane early and came out flat and fast. Its bound to warm up during the day but conditions this morning were excellent.
Still quite skiable for classic and skate after work. Did not look like it was groomed at all Thursday, but JNSC grooming equipment still on site. Plenty of snow to make it to the weekend. If not touched up tomorrow morning, I would caution skate skiiers that there will be some serious frozen ski ruts. Wait till 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Classic should be good from the get go – probably icy in the morning, but the two-track is well defined. A request to JNSC for a touch up. (Groom it and they will come!)
Thanks groomers for resetting the track. Skate lane is good too and much of the spruce needles have been plowed under.
