Wayne gave the Pioneer a fantastic groom this afternoon! Despite the warm, wet conditions, 25 of us on the team had a really good, long classic ski this afternoon, finishing at 7:00 pm. The grip wax was red 75 klister. A couple skate skiers said it was surprisingly good and firm skiing for them. A few spots are getting thin – hope we get some more snow soon. Thanks!
The traverse on 2/17 was excellent with deep snow. Twelve people packed most of the trail between the two cabins. We and others before us chipped ice off the blue diamonds. There was 10″ of snow on slush on Peterson Lake. Beware. We were able to ski all the way to the car at the Peterson Lake TH! Best snow of my 8 trips!
Scott groomed the campground for skate and classic and reports excellent conditions, corn snow. He is grooming on the other side of the road right now and then will be done.
Skate and classic set. Snowing at the top
Scott will be grooming the campground this morning. Expect the usual perfection. On another note, is there something JNSC can do to get rid of the constant spam posts?
