Took a couple passes behind a 4 wheeler but classic and skate are reset. Should be nice rest of the day and into the next round tomorrow.
Lake creek trail to Spaulding Meadows was wonderful today. Use your spikes up until the Meadows then strap on some boards for amazing strides.
Friday the Lower Loop had ruts, ice balls, and dips that made skate or classic skiing challenging. Touring skis and poles are the best bet for lower off piste and upper loop powder/off piste.
Firm and fast, plus grooming easter eggs.
Grooming a second round now from what was done this morning for anyone wanting another chance at freshies or just wanting more.
VR 45 (blue extra) kick wax worked very well on the upper loop. It is easier to hike up Sneaky and then ski down the road. Trickster is not packed and has too many surprises for good skiing.
Classic skiing on the upper loop was perfect this morning. Not freshly groomed but you can still follow the groomed trail through a cold light layer of snow. Many other classic skiers have put in their own tracks that are easy to follow. The Troy loop is especially fun with a soft powdery layer of snow over a firm base. Great for nordic downhill turns! Not sure how long these conditions will last but at this moment in time, it is awesome.
