Hard snow, deep ruts and posthole footprints, but groomed up nicely with the ginzu for the most part. The ginzu did not want to turn, so I did wander a bit across the classic tracks. Also, beware of hole on the forest cut-off trail, got stuck there big time!
Only 20F at 8AM. Everything frozen upon arrival, Classic track left since set track in place already and too cold to reset. Skate groomed out nicely and is very fast this morning. Beautiful and sunny there! Mid-20’s now, at 11AM.
Will be resetting both classic and skate this morning
Groomed skate/classic at 7am this morning (Thursday). Should ski ok, but the conditions are soft. It will get messy quick.
Looks like Montana Creek was groomed for skate and classic today. There is a hole in the middle of the trail near the bottom of the first hill and it goes down to the pavement. Beware! I am going to go out tomorrow morning with a shovel to fill it in. Otherwise conditions are fine. Snow is wet and dirty in spots but very skiable.
Scott groomed the Mendenhall Campground and the new side trail on the other side of the road for skate and classic. He reports the snow groomed out perfectly and despite the wet weather it is good skiing.
Del Carnes and I posted brand spanking new kilometer signs on the Montana Creek trail today. The trail is great for skate or classic and doesn’t seem to have suffered at all from the warmer weather.
