Scott and Peter worked on the lower loop this morning and were able to roll and compact about 2 km of trail. Snow is still soft but skiable. No dogs please.
The Juneau State Park Ranger asked me to post this flyer for the Tiki Torch XC ski event at Eagle Beach on 12/29 @ 2 PM. Snow has been ordered. Let’s hope the delivery is on schedule. Happy Holidays!
Campground should be rolled and ready to go by 11am tomorrow, Friday December 14
Montana groomed and looking great. Classic track is not set. Need a little more snow. Section between gun range and top of the hill where the machines are stowed is not groomed yet.
Skiing is great up at the cabin. 12″ midday 12/13 and it was snowing hard.
Scott rolled and compacted a little over 1 km on the lower loop this afternoon, following the hardened trail. Snow is soft. Please respect the work he has started and keep your dogs and your feet off the compacted trail. Skis and snowshoes should be fine. It was tough going and very difficult to turn the machine around off of the hardened trail. Despite having lighter equipment to work with, the wet unfrozen muskeg on both the lower and presents a real challenge to further grooming until we get colder temps and more snow.
Hello. And Bye.
