I’ll start grooming the campground about 10 this morning and should be done by noon. The classic track will probably be too hard to reset.
Waxless skis on the classic track was great tonight at 6 pm and the skate track looked just as good. Eaglecrest groomed and the snow is not as hard as at Montana Creek so they were able to shave the classic tracks down so your feet don’t hit the sides. I went counter clockwise and trail is so fast you feel like you’re going down hill almost the whole way. Snow cover is great and no bare spots now.
We skied all alone about 11:30 this morning. You can start skiing just inside the gate and it just gets better the farther you go. Conditions were fast with some beautiful corny snow and some slick stretches. The wind had blown a little debris on the trail but overall a great ski and welll worth going. Get it while you can!
Snow temp was 27F at 8AM so skate reset and looks flat and fast. Classic too cold to reset track yet – has to warm up more before snow can be manipulated.
WIll reset both tracks if possible.
The Eaglecrest Lower Loop was EXCELLENT ( that is better than excellent) at 3 pm Sunday. It was fast but controllable. Just all around nice. Best I have had up there in a long while. Thin but no bare spots.
The lower and upper loops were beautifully groomed for today (lower – skate and classic, upper – skate only) and should stay that way as long as the temps stay cold. Despite all the skiers who enjoyed the trails today, there was very little wear and tear thanks to the cold, firm conditions. Really nice skiing, folks!
