Found a “Happy Alaska” headband (fish design) at the Montana Creek trail on Saturday, Feb 11 around 1:00PM. Contact Terri at email@example.com if this is yours with some description of the headband. Love to get it reunited with the owner.
Very icy from parking lot to about 1/2 way down the hill. Grippers recommended. Snow is dirty but still skiable. Classic track barely holding on but it was faster outside of the track anyway. Skate lane looked good and Don T said it was fast skate skiing. Hope we get more snow soon!
Lower Loop a bit rough (snow cat tracks showing in lots of areas) after two days without grooming but still skiable. Classic groove non-existent in parts. A couple puddles in the main meadow. Some organics on the trail inside the trees by the lodge.
Groomed for skate, good from bridge out to end. Used ice grippers to walk down to machine, It is halfway down the hill.
Wet and windy, ungroomed today. Soft snow and very rough for skating. Classic track largely worn away. But not all that bad!
Highly recommend Ice grippers.
Ice on trail first 1000feet.
Snow conditions good beyond Ice.
Lower loop soft. Classic track barely set with the wet snow but set good enough for good glide. Probably a slow skate. Still good snow coverage everywhere.
