Classic skiable but rough spots, thin areas, and maybe walking areas. About 2.5″ snow when compressed but definitely some lg gravel visible that one would want to avoid.
Classic skied on Eaglecrest lower loop this morning, Dec. 4. Broke some more trail in at least foot deep snow. You may want to use Gaters to keep snow out of your boots. Hard work sometimes but its skiing!
I skied the lower loop about 2:30 – 3:30 yesterday. There is about a foot of snow, no grooming yet, I broke trail from the lodge down to the meadow and around half of the main meadow loop. Should be decent early season skiing in skier set classic tracks if it doesn’t get tracked up by foot traffic and dogs. We will work on getting equipment up to EC to groom a classic track in the next couple days. It’s good to have the snow arrive!
Classic skied the glacier lake from Skater’s Cabin this afternoon, Friday, November 25, 2016. Awesome. Lighter snow approx. 2-3″ deep. Sharp pole ends are helpful as there is no crust under the snow to dig into. Easy to ski untracked snow because you’re not breaking through deep snow.
Groomed for skate Sat. Classic wasn’t bad, but there were no tracks. A little mist but drier than downtown. A couple water hazards are popping up. Ski while you can. Buckwheat is 4/2!
Thursday, March 24 – Eaglecrest groomed the upper loop for skate only. It is in great shape right now. Unbelievable!
Skate and classic were fantastic yesterday, and should be equally fine today, with partial sun and temps in low 40s.
