The Upper Loop is in good shape and freshly groomed, so come up for what could well be the last groomed day of the season! Eaglecrest has announced end of mountain grooming unless the lower mountain receives a lot more new snow in March. To access the UL it is a muddy and sometimes icy hike up Trickster, but well worth it!!
Great skiing above the slide. Pavement, rocks and ice till then. Unless our snowmaking system produces, grooming is over for now.
Join the Juneau Nordic Ski Team at the Eaglecrest Upper Loop. Saturday (Feb. 27) is Race Day! This won’t be just any regular race. The gun goes off at 10:32am SHARP for the First Annual “With or Without You” race at Eaglecrest. Plan to be on skate skis, but as the race name implies, be ready to let go of what you cannot use. Questions, call Odin at 209-4344.
100 yrs below the landslide and the rest of the way up is outstanding skate skiing. Groomed this morning.
Icy conditions to first curve before the landslide. After that the track gets better and better. Still plenty of snow left above. You might want to wait till the sun warms it up a bit this morning. Hard freeze overnight locked the old track in but multiple passes this morning cleaned it up nicely. Fast skate and no classic track this morning because of frozen snow. Creepers not necessary.
Groomed for skate,glide much improved.
Skiing starts at bridge. Watch for rocks.
Soft classic and skate set, Sunday noon. Wet in the usual spots. Dry pavement to containers, soft ice to pullout, Ski from Bridge.
