No gunfire before sunrise. Skating lane is soft with a layer of fresh till on top. Classic is hard and was not reset. I worked the classic a bit at the far end and couldn’t produce any improvement. Devo’s asked for ‘coaching pull-outs’ as a courtesy to civilians on the track with them and so they can break off to the side for coaching. I may reset the track late tonight to conserve and harden the surface.
Trail will be groomed early. 4H club will be there around 10am. Beat the rush.
What a difference a day makes. The upper loop is in fantastic condition for both skate and classic. Hike up Trickster – no problem! The snow softened just enough and the Eaglecrest groomers did an amazing job to smooth things out. Skate ski race tomorrow (Sunday) at 10:30 a.m. – everyone is welcome!
11:00 AM update
Slows down track
Classic still good
Groomed for skate
Groomed for skate & classic Fri. evening 1/15. The snow will set up well overnight and be pretty good tomorrow, all things considered.
There some are thin spots and debris under the trees, so leave your top-shelf skis at home, but at least 3/4 of the track groomed up very well with adequate snow.
Access walking or skiing to and from the upper loop is very slick. Snow is quite firm. Grippers recommended.
