MC upper meadow set for classic and skate. Needs snow to cover the stuff sticking up.
Most of the Lower Loop has been groomed for skate skiing. It is still early season conditions, the gravel trail has good coverage, some vegetation poking through in the meadows. The snowcat broke through the ice on a pond in the meadow and chewed up some mud, not enough spare snow to blade it or other problem areas and thins spots over, so we need to let the cold weather freeze up the ponds and wet spots in the muskeg before the loop is groomed again. I think we could set a classic track on the gravel trail down and back with a snowmachine, will talk to Matt and Nate about that tomorrow.
Only problem with skating is it might be slow, 11 degrees on the lower loop at 3 PM Friday, wax for cold temps. Good touring conditions off the groomed.
Grooming has started on the meadow loop at top of MC
Doug seat a wide skate track up Montana. He left the Classic as it was still good.
I groomed the camp ground with the Ginzu for skate. The Classic track was still in goo0d shape. Campground Temp was -1
Touched up the skating lane this morning. Conditions are cold and frozen with a brisk north wind. Lots of sunshine and good skiing.
