Groomed this morning by Mike. Trail is soft and it is raining. He had a hard time getting the machine and groomer back up the hill. The hill be the end of grooming when we can not get back up.
Eagle Beach was rolled and track set Friday evening. Snow is soft and wet.
Still, there’s much more snow at EB than in your front yard, and it’s skiable, but no sugar-coating here: stretches vary from pretty-darn-good to occasional spots of big wet puddles. Get there early to get the best of the track before it gets chewed up.
Don and Del worked magic on the trail today-Shoveling snow over the puddles and grooming to perfection. Skate was soft but classic was great.
Thanks to both of you keeping the dream alive.
Wondering if anyone has been up The John Muir trail this week? Do you need snow shoes to hike to the cabin? Thanks.
Montana Creek was skate groomed this morning. Don and I shoveled snow on the spots that had standing water plus draining them. Both Skate and Class are soft. We are giving it a star ratting of **. It is skiable.
The Upper Loop has lost a lot of snow and will not be groomed this weekend. We snowshoed the entire loop yesterday and there are many dirt patches and too much running water for grooming. But the snowshoeing is excellent, and back country touring skis would also be fine in much of the Hilda meadows.
Will be groomed this morning starting between 9 and 9:30. Also some trail work well be going on. Watch for Equipment on trail.
