The walkers have pretty well torn up the grooming that’s been done at the campground. I took a fall when I hit a patch of ice unearthed by walkers this morning. Has it ever been discussed to separate a walking path (for humans and dogs) from a skiing lane? Would the USFS consider this? Seems like there is enough room for everyone. I’m increasingly annoyed by bootracks in the carefully groomed trail (as well as dogs off leash).
Rolled today low spots in trail with ice and some rocks, OK for classic skiing. Need more snow
Eaglecrest lower loop rolled with piston bulletin. Not deep enough to set track, Some vegetation but pretty decent. May set up by tomorrow for skating…
Will be rolled tomorrow. The gate is now locked.
Camp Ground rolled today. Hard base with rolled snow on top. Thin but looks skate able. Some sticks that dogs left behind.
Classic skiable but rough spots, thin areas, and maybe walking areas. About 2.5″ snow when compressed but definitely some lg gravel visible that one would want to avoid.
Classic skied on Eaglecrest lower loop this morning, Dec. 4. Broke some more trail in at least foot deep snow. You may want to use Gaters to keep snow out of your boots. Hard work sometimes but its skiing!
