Q. Is control controlled by it’s need to control? Sedge was pondering WS Borroughs. Man, that guy is wierd, while he skated an effortless 9k on the lake, and another 6K in the campground. Really good. just a shade under perfect, but really good. Light was flat but the gauzey mist made up for it. Sunday noon. January 11.
Montana Creek groomed this morning for both Skate and
classic skiing. Conditions are ****.
The 2 km of the upper middle loop are well groomed and in good condition today. The well tilled skating track was frozen this morning early but it’s just softening up now at about 9 AM. Because of the lower temperatures at this altitude this might be the best skate skiing in town today especially if the day warms up. Enjoy! Fred
The 2 km of trail in the upper Meadows Loop are well groomed and after freezing overnight the tilled track is just softening this morning about 9 AM. It is well worth coming up to ski this loop today. It may be our best skate skiing in town because of the cooler temperatures at this altitude. The track is set for skate skiing only and it takes a quick walk up the Sneaky trail to get to the loop. Enjoy!
Campground groomed for the racers this am. Lake groomed near 11. Jeff White cleaned up the track after the racers were done and added another skating lane on the other side of the double diagonal track on the lake. Conditions are pretty good.
Tired of skiing the flats? The upper loop will give you the hill workout you crave. Walk (or ski) up from the parking lot to the base of Ptarmigan chair, then hike up the side of the Sneaky run – an easy 15-25 min ski/hike to just below the Black Bear chair. It was really beautiful up there today and I enjoyed classic skiing the loop despite no set classic track. Skate skiing looked nice. Skiers reported a fast firm track early in the day and softer in the afternoon.
