We have rolled the Eagle campground the past three days to set up a base. The snow is still pretty thin in the woods, not enough to set a track. The corduroy is amenable for classic inmost places, too lumpy for skating.
Kevin machine packed the trail this afternoon. Roller plugged.
Camp ground was skate and classic set this morning. Not perfect but you can ski!
Snow got heavier as I groomed and kept plugging the roller.
I will be working the Nordic Trails supervisor position again at Eaglecrest, part time, and need to hire 1-2 others especially on weekends, several hours a day. You can get paid with a free season pass, or alpine day passes, or be on the payroll. Contact me if you want to get paid to x-c ski and talk to people!! email@example.com
Meanwhile Jack is starting to volunteer groom the Lower Loop with his own snow machine, classic only. EC machinery will need lots more snow.
Perfect ski touring in Spaulding Meadows today. Cold, soft snow. No rocks!
Spaulding Meadows received a good dump of cold, soft snow and ski touring up there is as good as it gets. Spaulding trail is in good shape – no muddy or icy spots. Scott and I packed in a good trail today and the skiing up there is limitless. Bonus feature: no snowmobile traffic yet!
Cold, new snow. Like yesterday, only better. 20″ at the midpoint of BlackBear. Some soft turns from the ridge. Watch for rocks!
