4pm: Temp: 50s at parking. Good snow depth. Snow starts just down from conex. Condensed, well groomed & packed, corn snow. Fast. Skate track not mushy. Classic track fast-icy.
Fresh groomed good for classic and skate, need to walk half way to bridge before skiing.
For groomers filled gas tank on machine.
classic fine 3/26
Oooo pretty nice classic track. It took three passes with the ginzu to loosen it up before I could put the classic setter down. It turned out good overall. Skate looked fun too
Oh my there was goodness to be had this morning! Finished grooming about 9:15 and was skate skiing immediately before the sun got to the snow. Fast and furious. One lady that skied just before me commented that today was her best ski at Montana Creek all season—-and she’s skied 80 times around Juneau this winter—so that ought to tell you something! The trick is to get there early before the sun softens the snow too much–before 10 am.
I plan on grooming about 8 this morning. Should be done by 9:30. It froze last night so there should be some good spring corn conditions.
Skiing is still good. Classic track is marginal, but the skate lane looks fast. Come and get it while you can!!!
