Upper and lower loops groomed. The lower loop is widened and expanded, now going all the way around the Fish Creek loop. The Forest Trail that parallels the road from the start at the lodge is also groomed, allowing you to ski a real loop, not just an out and back route. Beautiful conditions for both skate and classic.
Received 2″ of snow over what was groomed yesterday. Double classic track set and it is a 7 out 10. Center section is stunning corduroy – very firm with a bit of soft stuff on top. 10 out of 10. Best time of day is 1000-1300 as the sun shines down the road.
The wind was beginning to fill in as I left – the surf coming down Lynn Canal is impressive.
Finished grooming campground about 10 am Friday. Great conditions.
Lake groomed for skate and classic. Great conditions! Also, Peter set the 10k loop for Skate and classic.
The lower loop is beautifully groomed for skate and classic. With all the new snow, Eaglecrest was able to get the pisten bully out there and skiing is phenomenal this morning! Let’s keep it clean, folks – skiers only on the groomed trail. No foot traffic, whether human or animal. Save that for all of the other nordic trails around town.
I hope to start grooming the campground and the lake about 8 this morning.
Soft trail, high moisture content (not slushy though), causing some clumping in middle and on edges where equipment set. Skate skied but classic track in great condition!
