Coming up:

Sunday March 1 – Ski for Cold – 9am-5pm

A Juneau Nordic Ski Team (JNST) fundraising event which also inspires the community to come together and ski as many kilometers as possible in a single day!

Get ready to ski your heart out this Sunday at Eaglecrest. Come for a half an hour or all day!  Please stop by base camp and add your name and kilometers from skiing the upper, lower, or dog loops to the tally. Base camp will be at the lower loop meadow where snacks and beverages will be provided by the Juneau Nordic Ski Team.

Last year as a community we skied 3,334 km in one day – spread the word to family and friends so we can ski even more this year, every kilometer counts!

All skiers, new and old, are invited to join the the youth ski team’s efforts. This year the teams mission is to promote skiing and share information on keeping Juneau clean, with an eye towards adaptation and our changed climate. The team will have some information to share about how we, as a community, can be mindful of our footprint and support local efforts for sustainability.

If a friend or loved one doesn’t have skis this is a good day to rent waxless classic skis from Eaglecrest rental shop at the mountain or skate skis from Foggy Mountain Shop downtown.

Skiers are collecting pledges for this event, in the week leading up to it and you can make a donation to our youth programs anytime at https://www.jnski.org/support-youth-nordic-programs/
