The Juneau Nordic Ski Club is excited to present its first annual Ski O’ Caching event series for individuals and families. You must be a JNSC member to participate as clues are going out via email from JNSC. As with “geo-caching”, registered participants and families will receive GPS coordinates every week by email for five weeks to find clues on our Nordic ski trails. Smartphone GPS and geocaching apps should be adequate for locating the word signs. The first week begins Friday January 1st and continues until February 5th. We will be using a variety of Nordic ski trails as conditions permit. Each clue will be posted on a plaque near the GPS location and will be part of a six-word sentence. At the end of the 5-week event, contestants will submit via email what they believe to be the completed sentence and, if correct, they will be eligible for a drawing of several great prizes. JNSC will send out GPS coordinates via email to registered participants on the morning of Friday, January 1st and then on each following Friday until the end of the 5-week event. Participants must then submit their rendition of the complete sentence by email no later than February 12th.
